The ACPMP Patient Registry is Live

We are pleased to announce the launch of ACPMP Research Foundation Appendix Cancer/Pseudomyxoma Peritonei Patient Registry (ACPMP Patient Registry)! The ACPMP Patient Registry creates a platform for patients around the world to strengthen their voices and share information about Appendix Cancer, including Pseudomyxoma Peritonei.

Appendix cancer originates from the cells lining the lumen of the appendix. It is often not diagnosed until it is advanced, spreading beyond the appendix and into the abdomen & pelvis. With appendix cancer, this is Stage 4, challenging to treat, and depending on the type, often fatal. There are different types of tumors of the appendix depending on the type of cells involved. Different histologies exhibit different behaviors, with some being slow growing while others are more aggressive.

Symptoms can be vague and widely varied among individual patients. Some of the more common symptoms may include, appendicitis, increased abdominal girth, bloating, pain or discomfort in the abdominal region, hernia-like symptoms, accumulation of ascites, pelvic pain mimicking fibroids, endometriosis, or ovarian cysts or tumors.

Appendix Cancer, including Pseudomyxoma Peritonei currently has no cure. Designed with the input of scientists and patients, this global resource will provide data for researchers to use to advance drug development and treatment options to help improve treatments for patients with Appendix Cancer, including Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. Join now and let your data tell your story!
